Overview of Assessor Main Dashboard
This article provides an overview of the Assessor Main Dashboard in the RIW System.
This instruction applies to the following user roles:
- Assessor

2 | The Assessor's Main Dashboard will display. The tabs, highlighted by the red box below, are menus that you can access. Each tab represents a main area of the system that you can edit or view. In the top right of the screen you will find your username, name and user permission. From here you can:

Send feedbackHow does an Assessor manage a job role assessment?
This article details how an Assessor can manage and approve a job role assessment assigned to them in the RIW System.
This instruction applies to the following user roles:
- Assessor
1 | Go to https://app.riw.net.au/ and log in using your Assessor credentials. |
2 | This will display the Assessor Main Dashboard. Pending, approved and rejected job role assessments can be viewed on the My Job Role Assessments tile. If an item requires attention, a blue box with a number will display next to the tasks as per the above example. |
3 | Clicking on the Pending Job Role Assessments shortcut will load all pending job role assessments. The My Job Role Assessments screen will display and by default the Pending Assessment menu will be highlighted on the left hand side menu. Click on the Rail Industry Worker that requires a job role assessment and click View Person. |
4 | The cardholder profile will now display. Click on the Job Roles tab from the left-hand menu, and the job role requiring assessment will display. Click on the job role that requires assessment, and then click Assess Job Role. |
5 | On the Assess Job Role screen, you can view all competencies submitted to you for assessment. You can view the evidence files by clicking on the View link next to each competency. Assess the evidence submitted against the relevant RIW Business Rule to ensure compliance. If the evidence meets the criteria, use the drop down Assessment Status box to choose the appropriate status; Assessment Approved or Assessment Rejected. Continue to repeat this step to review all the competencies that require assessment. |
6 | You can fill in the Assessment Notes with any relevant information, and also upload any further evidence files, such as checklists or work logs. You can continue adding further files by clicking on Add Another Evidence File. When all the details have been added to the assessment and you are satisfied the cardholder has demonstrated the appropriate competencies, click on Approve Assessment. A notification will be sent to the requester that the job role assessment has been approved, and the job role will be immediately valid on the Rail Industry Worker's profile. |
7 | If the evidence provided does not meet assessment criteria, then choose Assessment Rejected from the Assessment Status drop down, write in any relevant Assessment Notes, and then click Reject Assessment. A notification will be sent to the requester that the job role assessment has been rejected, and the job role will continue to be invalid on the Rail Industry Worker's profile. You can view any rejected job role assessments by clicking on the Rejected Assessment tab from the left-hand menu. |

Assessor notes are used to record a messages on your Assessor profile while is displayed in the search for Assessor screen when a company sends a job role for assessment.

Note: Only the records of cardholders who have been submitted to you for assessment can be viewed. To refine the list displayed, use the Search function to locate a Rail Industry Worker by entering the worker's RIW Number or Sent for Assessment Since date to refine the list. |

This article details what happens when a job role assessment is cancelled by a company, and how that reflects in the RIW System for an Assessor.
This instruction applies to the following user roles:
- Assessor
1 | When a job role assessment is cancelled, the Assessor will receive an email notification of the cancellation. |
2 | After cancellation, the job role assessment will no longer appear in the Pending Assessment queue and the Rail Industry Worker's record will no longer be available to view. |

Send feedbackWhat is an automatic cancellation of a job role assessment?
This article details why a job role assessment may be automatically cancelled in the RIW System.
This instruction applies to the following user roles:
- Advanced Project Admin
- Assessor
- Employer Admin
- Employer Admin - No Payment
The RIW System will automatically cancel any pending job role assessment when one of the following conditions is triggered:
- A Rail Industry Worker's competency in the assessable job role is deleted by a RIW System User.
- A Rail Industry Worker's competency in the assessable job role expires.
The automatic cancellation will occur overnight via a system script which checks the competencies of Rail Industry Worker's that have pending job role assessments.
If one of the above conditions is met, the job role assessment will be removed from the Assessor’s list and both the Assessor and requester will be notified by email.
The requester will need to fix the competency issues before resubmitting the job role for assessment.

This article details the existing reports available to Assessors in the RIW System and how to run them.
This instruction applies to the following user role:
- Assessor
1 | Go to https://app.riw.net.au and log in using your credentials. |
2 | Click on Reports > Existing Reports. |
3 | Reports that have been configured for Assessors will be listed on the Reports List screen. Click on the report name to run the report. |
4 | The Role Library and Corresponding Competency Grouping Report surfaces the required competencies that make up a job role. You can either Run Report immediately, and all the job roles you are approved to assess will display. Alternatively, you can enter the Job Role Name to refine the results. In the below example, the 91-Assessment job role will display all the competencies required to fulfil those job roles. The report can be exported to a CSV file by clicking on Export. This report is useful for Assessors to understand whether a Rail Industry Worker has met the job role competency requirements when the job role is submitted for assessment. |

This article details how an Assessor can edit the award and expiry dates of Assessable competencies in the RIW System.

2 | This will display the Assessor Main Dashboard. |
3 | Clicking on the Pending Job Role Assessments shortcut will load all pending job role assessments. The My Job Role Assessments screen will display and by default the Pending Assessment menu will be highlighted on the left hand side menu. Click on the Rail Industry Worker that requires a job role assessment and click View Person. |
4 | The cardholder profile will now display. Click on the National Competencies tab from the left-hand menu, and the all of the competencies on the cardholder's profile will display. Click on Edit Assessable Competency dates which will give the pop up to edit the award and expiry date. |
5 | The Edit Assessable Competency dates box will show the Competency Name, Code, Award Date and Expiy Date. The Assessor can edit the award Date and Expiry date fields and click on save to update the dates. |
